Betchkal is the best candidate for commissioner

August 2, 2019

I am writing to support and recommend Mark Betchkal as the best candidate for commissioner in Rehoboth Beach.

He will ensure transparent government, and protect the rights of residents to the quiet enjoyment of their property. He also favors the 3 percent hotel occupancy tax in order to fund the city infrastructure necessary to support a thriving resort economy.

Equally important, he opposes unlawful development, and city decisions that are void of supporting data, which is why he opposes a parking garage without a city-wide traffic and parking study.  He is also a vote against the proposed water and wastewater rates which he has described as a massive transfer of costs from seasonal business to homeowners.

Mark is intelligent and unbiased, providing meaningful solutions to the fiscal, neighborhood and business issues facing our city.  He deserves our vote Aug. 10.
