Beebe to host 2nd Annual Tom King Nine & Dine Oct. 18

Golf event held in honor of Dr. Vincent Killeen
October 1, 2019

The 2nd Annual Tom King Nine & Dine event in memory of Dr. Vincent Killeen will take place Friday, Oct. 18, at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown. Attendees can enjoy nine holes of golf, cocktail hour, casual dinner, live auction, and entertainment provided by 33 1/3. Non-golfers may purchase tickets for the evening only.

The event is sponsored by Beebe Medical Foundation and Debbie Killeen, and proceeds will raise funds for Beebe’s Women’s and Children’s Pavilion. Construction of this new facility in Beebe Healthcare’s new Specialty Surgical Hospital is now underway on Route 24 and Warrington Road in Rehoboth Beach.

Dr. Killeen founded Bayside Health Association in 1988 and was its president and CEO until his passing on Sept. 24, 2017. During his 35 years in obstetrics and gynecology, Killeen pioneered minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Beebe Healthcare. Working closely with his dedicated team of nurses and support staff brought Dr. Killeen great joy and honor. Over his career, he delivered more than 20,000 babies and improved thousands of women’s lives through surgery.

The Beebe Medical Foundation and Tom King Nine & Dine Committee chose to honor the late Dr. Killeen for his years of service to Beebe Healthcare and the community. He embodied many of the same values as Tom King: love of his family and friends, commitment to the local community, service on boards, and philanthropy.

“Dr. Killen had a huge impact on this community. He was very intelligent, loved to teach, and had a gift for making his patients feel special. He really elevated the level of women’s healthcare here at Beebe. His patients loved him! The staff had a real respect and admiration for him. He was a true champion for women’s health,” said Beebe’s Executive Director of Women’s Health Bridget Buckaloo.
