Sawgrass community members cooperated to collect donations of food gift cards for medical and support staff at Beebe Healthcare.
Gift cards totaling $700 were presented April 4. Sawgrass resident Robyn Post spearheaded the effort after talking with Lauren Baker, a PA at Beebe, and her mother Dina Viscount, both Lewes residents.
Baker works long hours, has an 8-month-old child, is concerned about contracting the virus, yet goes to work every day. When Post asked how doctors, nurses and all healthcare professionals managed to get daily meals and feed their families, Baker said they do the best they can.
Post publicized the gift card donation drive on the Sawgrass Facebook page and was met with an impressive response.
