No new COVID-19 deaths reported for first time since early April

In the latest COVID-19 wrap-up June 7, the Delaware Division of Public Health reported no new deaths but 30 new positive cases.

April 5 was the last date when DPH reported no deaths.   

In total, 398 Delawareans have passed away due to complications from COVID-19, ranging from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 211 were women, 187 were men. A total of 176 individuals were from New Castle County, 76 were from Kent County, and 146 were from Sussex County.

The latest Delaware COVID-19 case statistics cumulatively since March 11, provided as of 6 p.m., Sunday, June 7, include:

  • 9,972 total positive cases
  • New Castle County cases: 4,095
  • Kent County cases: 1,513
  • Sussex County cases: 4,353
  • Unknown county: 11
  • Females: 5,499; males: 4,454; unknown: 19
  • Age range: 0 to 103
  • Currently hospitalized: 113; Critically ill: 22; data represents individuals currently hospitalized in a Delaware hospital regardless of residence, and is not  cumulative
  • Delawareans recovered: 5,791
  • 59,975 negative cases

Note: The total number of individuals recovered was reduced by one as a result of reconciling a data entry issue, such as a duplicate entry.
