In March, Six Gazette readers and members of the Sussex Bird Club traveled to the sunny state of Sonora, Mexico on a guided trip organized by High Lonesome Bird Tours, with guide David MacKay.
The trip was 9 days, with stops in Hermosilla, Yecora, the beautiful El Pedregal Nature Lodge in Alamos and the Sea of Cortez. In addition to beautiful birds, scenery and excellent food, highlights were a walking tour of old town Alamos and dinner at La Hacienda de Los Santos.
They added 250 bird species to their bird lists and enjoyed sunny days and cool nights in the desert. Pictured from (l-r) areRob Schroeder, Rob Blye, Kevin Moore, Carol Blye, Sue Gruver, Sharon Lynne and High Lonesome founder Forrest Davis.
