MIXX to host murder-mystery dinner theatre June 24

June 22, 2010

MIXX Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach and Foot Light Productions announce a dinner and murder mystery to be held Thursday, June 24, titled “Murder On Sunset Boulevard.”

Guests can join the party of parody when the characters of 1950s film noir’s two favorite films, “Sunset Boulevard” and “Psycho,” collide. Meet film star Norma Despot as she and manservant Max Von Seedy plan her return to the silver screen. Meet Norman Cates, novice film director and motel owner, clawing his way to the top. Meet Norman’s girl Betty, as pretty and perky as Janet Leigh on Prozac. Will Joe Holden finally make a career in screenwriting, or will he just end up stuffed and floating in the pool? Why is gossip columnist Walter Winchell out to sabotage Norma’s return to the screen? And where is Norman’s doting mother during all this?

The evening begins at MIXX Restaurant, 26 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach with hors d’oeuvres from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner includes MIXX salad, choice of entrée from four selections and dessert of the day. A cash bar will be available.

The price for the dinner and show is $49 per person. Prizes will be awarded to the person who solves the mystery.

Reservations are a must; call 302-226-8700.
