Delmarva Veteran Builders holds construction safety week

August 9, 2020

Delmarva Veteran Builders, the region’s only commercial construction firm dedicated to bringing employment to U.S. armed forces veterans, held a safety week campaign Aug. 3-7, to bring awareness to the safety standard in construction. The company partnered with BBSI to present onsite trainings to continue safety standards education for its employees.

Currently, DVB holds safety training once a month, but founder Chris Eccleston said he believes hosting an entire safety week puts an added emphasis on the importance of safety in construction.

“Safety is a word that's heard a lot in our industry, but doesn't get the attention it deserves. DVB is making the decision to spin the narrative into a positive, celebratory week to make it both educational and memorable. Proactively practicing safety binds our employees together - essentially, we're telling one another that we literally have each other's back. This collective mentality carries over to all of our job site interactions and reassures our loved ones that depend on us to come home each and every night,” said Eccleston.
