Coastline Craft Kitchen ups the food truck game

August 13, 2020

Coastline Craft Kitchen is a mixture of Danio Somoza-Angel’s two Cape Region restaurants - Harvest Tide Steakhouse in Lewes and Zoca Modern Mexican in Bethany Beach.

Offering everything from a black angus burger and smoked bacon avocado grilled cheese to dry-aged steak burritos and shrimp tacos, Somoza-Angel said there is something for everyone.

“We were looking at our sales and everything is selling pretty much the same,” he said.

The menu is likely to change throughout the year, he said, keeping the offerings fresh and new for customers.

“We’ve only been on the road for three weeks and we already have people saying that it’s definitely different than anybody else,” he said.

Somoza-Angel said he’s been planning to buy a food truck for about a year and a half. It will help with his goal of expanding to catering banquets and weddings.

For the foreseeable future, the food truck will be at the Big Chill Surf Cantina on Route 1 just north of Rehoboth from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Thursday to Sunday. It is also frequently at the Revelation Beer Garden at Hudson Fields in Milton and Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery in Frankford. And once Twin Branch Winery in Milton opens, he expects the truck to be there often. Check Coastline Craft Kitchen’s Facebook page to find out upcoming locations.

As the region continues to deal with COVID-19, he said, the food truck offers a new way for people to get a taste of Harvest Tide and Zoca without dining in the restaurants.

It will also help with marketing the food truck for future catering events, he said.

For more information about Coastline Craft Kitchen, go to the food truck’s Facebook page. A website, coastlinecraftkitchen.com, will soon be updated with information too. Door Dash delivery is also available every night the truck is at Big Chill Surf Cantina.
