Sussex Tech students attend National 4-H Youth Congress
Seven Sussex Technical High School students were among the 10 Delaware youth selected to participate in the National 4-H Youth Congress in Atlanta, Ga. Bethany Killmon, Stephen Mervine Jr., Joe Anderson, Nathan Bradley, Mary Catherine Lagano, Hunter Murray and Isabel Wharton had the opportunity to learn about community involvement, cultural diversity and service to others during the congress. They were also given time to explore the city of Atlanta.
Bethany Killmon of Bridgeville is a member of the Dublin Hill 4-H Club and focuses on raising and showing sheep. She is a junior at Sussex Tech studying a double major in media broadcasting and criminal justice.
Stephen Mervine of Bridgeville is also a member of the Dublin Hill 4-H Club. He enjoys photography projects. A junior, Stephen studies media broadcasting at Sussex Tech.
Joe Anderson of Milton is a junior at Sussex Tech studying automotive technologies. He raises and shows dairy cows, as well as swine, as a member of the Hollymount 4-H Club.
Nathan Bradley of Laurel belongs to the Seaford Blue Jays 4-H Club. He is active in fishing, sport shooting and food projects. A Sussex Tech junior, Nathan is also studying automotive technologies.
Mary Catherine Lagano of Frankford is a senior at Sussex Tech studying cosmetology. She is a member of the Country Clover 4-H Club and is involved in robotics, and clothing and textile projects.
Hunter Murray of Greenwood enjoys raising and showing sheep and is a member of the Dublin Hill 4-H Club. He is studying athletic healthcare as a senior at Sussex Tech.
Isabel Wharton of Laurel, a senior, studies health professions at Sussex Tech. As a member of the Buttonwood 4-H Club, she raises and shows livestock and has been involved in clothing and textiles, and animal science projects.
The other three Delaware representatives at the 4-H Congress were Jenna Hitchens of Georgetown, a member of the Dublin Hill 4-H Club and a student at Sussex Central High School, and McKenzie Ivory and Trevor Maloney, both from Kent County.
