Sussex Habitat hosts Trunk or Treat

Sussex County Habitat for Humanity held a no-contact, socially distanced Trunk or Treat event at the Lewes ReStore Oct. 24.

The event was held in two sessions with 100 participants in each. Children and parents, in costume, walked from trunk to trunk to collect treats. The car trunks were decorated for the occasion, and those passing out candy did so in contactless fashion, either via prepackaged bags that children could pick up or with candy doled out via plastic claw, so nothing was touched. 

 

Austin Coulter and his mother Rebecca represent Captain America and Black Widow.
Mae and Dennis Cipriano of Lewes went with a pirate theme for their trunk decoration.
Maggie Burke and Rob Lesch used their trunk to pay homage to the Cookie Monster.
Carla Silva represents the Rehoboth Beach/Lewes branch of the U.S. Postal Service.
He may be in preschool, but Nick Gordon, 4, of Lewes went prehistoric for his costume.
The event was held over two hours with 100 people taking part each hour.
A Land Rover is ready to go out on safari.
