Clothing Our Kids thanks Schell Family Foundation and all donors

January 15, 2021

Clothing Our Kids organizers are extremely grateful for the generosity of the Schell Family Foundation’s 2020 contribution to help Sussex County schoolchildren in need.

Since 2015, COK has been one of the fortunate beneficiaries of the foundation’s annual donations. The foundation comprises Joe and Debbie Schell, Chris and Lori Schell, Preston and Kathleen Schell, and Susie and Drew Matter. Chris serves as president of Schell Brothers, one of Delaware’s largest quality home builders, while Preston holds that office at Ocean Atlantic Companies, a leading real estate development firm in the state. Lori Schell runs Kids’ Cottage, a well-known childcare facility and preschool in the area. Clothing Our Kids team members are thankful to have Kathleen Schell, co-owner of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, on its board as director of strategic planning.

This has been a year overflowing with challenges, learning and silver linings. The 100 percent volunteer-run organization has been blessed with new and continuing foundation support and general donations. With this assistance, Clothing Our Kids was able to support school nurse emergency closets and provide school clothing for more than 600 kids.

Clothing Our Kids volunteers are grateful for the generosity of Tidemark Federal Credit Union Foundation, Sussex County Council grants, Carl M. Freeman Foundation Grant and Employee Fund, St. Edmond Catholic Church, Rock Harbor Foundation, Lewes Presbyterian Church, Delaware Curative Workshop, the Hamlet Women’s Club, All Saints’ Parish Thrift Shop, the Greater Lewes Foundation, Melaleuca, Silicato Commercial Realty, Draper Holdings Charitable Foundation, Bank of Delmarva, Community Bank of Delaware and IBM.org.
