CAMP Rehoboth Chorus to celebrate love in Feb. 11 concert
The CAMP Rehoboth Chorus is getting ready for its third annual winter concert, All You Need is Love!, set for 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
Under the artistic direction of Fay Jacobs and the musical direction of Bill McManus, the chorus will perform a lively mix of chart-topping songs and Broadway hits which are sure to bring back memories and stir emotions. McManus is a graduate of the Hartt College of Music of the University of Hartford and has extensive experience as a conductor and soloist with many elite musical groups. Jacobs is a renowned author, publisher and producer. The chorus will be accompanied by virtuoso pianist David Zipse, who is a popular performer at area restaurants and clubs and most recently, the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.
The concert will feature a special guest performance by the Rock Creek Singers, an ensemble group from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. This highly acclaimed group has performed at the Kennedy Center, the National Theatre and Carnegie Hall. The singers performed at President Bill Clinton’s second inauguration and at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Always fun and entertaining, the chorus has increased in number over the past year, adding a strong soprano section and several members with solo performing experience. This year’s concert will feature show-stopping solos from chorus members and will continue the group’s signature style with a campy opening number and a narration to go with the evening’s theme.
Tickets for the concert are $15 and are available online at camprehoboth.com or by calling or visiting CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach, 302-887-5620.
