Doris H. Fraser, avid baseball fan

Doris H. Fraser, 74, of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was born July 15, 1947, in Stockley, daughter of the late Edgar J. and Helen Marie Jefferson.

Mrs. Fraser was the manager of It's Fashion, a ladies’ boutique in Georgetown, for 10 years until her retirement in 2003. She was an avid baseball fan, always rooting for her favorites, the Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox, and she enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Above all, Mrs. Fraser was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Fraser is survived by her beloved husband, Rowland Fraser of Georgetown; her son, David Downes (Christopher O'Neal) of Rehoboth Beach; her daughters, Donna Kay Brown (Russell) of Milford, Beverly Wheatley (Eddie) of Georgetown, and Billie Sue Downes of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Megan Dougherty, Crystal Nickerson, Brooke Havrilla-Downes, and Josh Shockley; her five great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jennie Lee Maurer of Clayton and Anna Louise King of Lewes.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.
