Cindy Conant
Cindy Conant of Kensington, Md., has been racing at the beach for more than 20 years, and she wins pretty much any race she enters here. On Oct. 30, the 60-year-old multi-Boston Marathon qualifier won the overall title in the female division at the Sea Witch Half Marathon, racing 13.1 miles through Cape Henlopen State Park in a time of 1:33:42, which was also good for 11th overall. Cindy is no stranger to the half-marathon distance, as she won several of the popular Lower Delaware Autism Foundation half titles back in the late ’90s. Cindy volunteers at the Dave Reynolds Biathlon each year, and if she finds a swimmer, she usually wins one of the relay divisions.
Tyler Muse
Tyler logged a half-marathon time of 1:21:36 to win the inaugural Sea Witch Half Marathon Oct. 30, using the race as a warm-up for the Oct. 31 Bay Bridge Run, where he threw down six sub-five minute miles to win the race. This 28-year-old from Bel Air, Md., ran 30:45 over the Bay Bridge, averaging a crazy 4:58-per-mile pace. Tyler ranks up there with the best runners who have ever raced at the beach, including names like Rich Paperno, Doug Mock and Mark Amway. Tyler won by over a minute on the field of more than 10,000 runners and walkers.
