Public health emergency renewed
Gov. John Carney formally extended the Public Health Emergency order Nov. 5 for another 30 days to allow the State of Delaware and medical providers to continue COVID-19 vaccination and testing programs.
“There’s no better way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 than getting vaccinated,” he said. “Children ages 5 and older are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, and that is really good news. If you have questions, talk to your family doctor. Getting more of our younger Delawareans vaccinated will help us finally put an end to this pandemic. Visit de.gov/getmyvaccine to find a free vaccine provider in your community.”
This is Carney’s fifth extension of the Public Health Emergency declaration, which must be renewed every 30 days by law. Carney issued his first public health emergency order July 12, a day before lifting the 16-month State of Emergency order.
