Beryl Eldetha Lashley, avid traveler

December 1, 2021

Beryl Eldetha Lashley (Norville), 83, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2021. Dee, as she was called, was a victim of Alzheimer’s, a malicious disease. Since 2017, she resided and was cared for at The Moorings at Lewes in Delaware. Dee was a Howard University graduate (1958) with a master's degree in social work (1966). A native of Washington, D.C., Dee was an avid traveler, visiting countries all over the world. She spent most of her adult life in Trinidad and Los Angeles, Calif. Dee was a classically trained pianist who also loved hard rock and took on the challenge of learning to play the guitar soon after her retirement. Family members Eunice Henderson and Marcella Rene Turk, and Dee's friends remember her smile, her raspy voice, and the joy she found in being with people she loved. They miss her presence in their lives.

Plans are being made for a memorial service to be held in September 2022 in Lewes.
