Snacks for Santa event to benefit students in need Dec. 10

December 6, 2021

Community members might be planning to leave cookies and milk for Santa, but this holiday season, Santa would love some snacks for Sussex County kids.

Jeanine O’Donnell from State Farm and Sussex County Habitat for Humanity will hold Snacks for Santa, an event benefiting the students at Pathways to Success, from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at the Sussex County Habitat for Humanity ReStore near Lewes.

Everyone is encouraged to come donate snacks and bring their children to see Santa Claus.

Pathways students from Cape Henlopen, Milford, Seaford and Sussex Tech high schools don’t always have enough food at home. Healthy snacks can help them through the morning at school or at home when food is not available.

For several years, O’Donnell has held events to collect snacks for Pathways to Success students.

“Many times these snacks are the only breakfast these youth have had to start their day,” said Fay Blake, founder and director of Pathways to Success. “The partnership of Jeanine O’Donnell and her team at State Farm, and Kevin Gilmore’s team at Sussex County Habitat for Humanity to help our kids truly warms my heart.”
