Daniel Ian Petz, loved the outdoors
Daniel “Dan” Ian Petz, 49, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at his home in Lewes. He was born June 12, 1972, at the Lakenheath Air Force Base in Suffolk, England, and was the eldest son of Lowell “Skip” and Catherine (McGrath) Petz of Millsboro.
Daniel served in the United States Army as an operating room technician from 1991-93. He enjoyed life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Daniel loved the outdoors, at one point was an avid cycler, loved his time on the water, enjoyed reading WW II history, and was a diehard Liverpool Soccer fan. He dearly loved his family and being with them, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his parents; his brothers, Christopher Petz (wife Kerry) of Arnold, Md., and Michael Petz of Lewes; his nephews, Jacob and Sam Petz; and a multitude of extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow the mass at the Clubhouse at Baywood, 32267 Clubhouse Way, Millsboro. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Masks are required, and social distancing must be observed by all attendees.
