Sussex P&Z meeting on Feb. 10

Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Included on the agenda is a possible vote on the Coral Lakes subdivision application and a public hearing on a conditional-use application filed by Ashley DiMichele for a tourist home on a 2.8-acre parcel at 26182 Cave Neck Road near Milton. Lewes joint site committee to meet

The Lewes Joint Site Development Committee will meet virtually at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9. The group will consider two requests from White Bucks LLC for the construction of mixed-use sites at the corner of Savannah Road and Cape Henlopen Drive. Lewes BPW to hold rate workshop Feb. 10

Lewes budget meetings set Feb. 11

Lewes Mayor and City Council will hold its second meeting to discuss the fiscal year 2023 budget at 9 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11. The meeting will be held in person and virtually. Limited seating will be available in city hall. Council is set to discuss department budgets for maintenance, parks marina, planning, building, finance, city manager’s office and lifeguards. Dewey Beach sets committee meetings Feb. 12

The Dewey Beach Climate Change Committee will hold a virtual meeting at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 12. The town’s comprehensive development plan committee will meet virtually at 11:30 a.m., Feb. 12.

Rehoboth issues RFP for plant upgrades

Rehoboth Beach has issued a request for proposals related to another round of improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment plant.

The project consists of constructing a new dewatering facility, converting existing aerobic digesters to waste sludge holding tanks, and doing other ancillary work. Toll plaza at Lewes ferry to get facelift

The Delaware River and Bay Authority has issued a request for proposals related to rehabilitation of the toll plaza canopy roof and signage at the Lewes and Cape May ferry terminals. The project generally includes rehabilitation of the toll plaza canopy roofs and fascia, and purchase and installation of new signage.

Bids will be accepted through 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 30. Bidders may obtain contract documents from CapEx Manager, the authority's online project management system, at drba.net.

Rehoboth green group to meet Feb. 11

The Rehoboth Beach Trees & Green Infrastructure Committee has scheduled a virtual meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11. The agenda calls for continued discussion on mapping the commemorative tree program and selecting trees for a city-wide tree tour.

Cape Shores looking to add sand to beach

The Cape Shores Homeowners Association in Lewes is looking to add sand to its beach.

According to a Feb. 6 public notice from the state’s Division of Watershed Stewardship, the HOA has submitted an application for a construction permit to place up to 4,325 cubic yards of sand along the beach seaward of the building line. The application may be inspected at the offices of the Division of Watershed Stewardship, 285 Beiser Blvd., Suite 102, Dover. Comments about it should be made in writing to the division within 15 days from the date of the notice, which is Monday, Feb. 21.
