Republican attorney general candidates April 1 debate canceled
Contender drops out due to health issue
March 29, 2022
According to a statement released March 29 by the Sussex County Republican Committee, the planned April 1 debate between candidates for the office of Delaware attorney general has been canceled. The event would have brought together former gubernatorial candidate Julianne Murray and retired Kent County Judge Charles Welch to discuss their platforms.
“Due to a recent event, the Sussex County Republican Committee will be canceling the Attorney General Debate,” said Marilyn Booker, committee chair. “Judge Welch has removed his name from contention at this time. He has exacerbated a health issue that he needs to address.”
