Knee replacement experience worth repeating at Beebe

May 17, 2022

I was discharged from Beebe Healthcare March 8 with a brand-new knee. My surgery had been delayed due to COVID, so I was excited to have the procedure behind me.

My surgeon was Wilson Choy, MD, and although I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Choy and his team, I am writing today to say that my entire experience was flawless. Start to finish, I was cared for by compassionate, competent professionals. There was not a single miscommunication among all of the teams that worked with me, nor did I ever have the sense that I was just a number. Everyone, from the pre-operative and surgical team to dietary, environmental services, physical therapy and nursing, was professional and wonderful.  Beebe’s Home Health team was terrific! They came on time and were thorough and beyond competent.

Big shout-out to Stacie Holsopple at registration who was bright and cheerful at her desk. Also a big-out to Susan Ferenczi from dietary, who was a gem.

I gathered as many names as I could to thank in this note, so here is my list! Thank you to Tracy Lewis, RN (pre-procedure), Wilson Choy, MD, Scott Knowlton, DO (anesthesia), Donna Azato, RN (PACU), Dawn Roach, RN (intra op), William Doherty, MD (post-anesthesia eval), and the team who entertained and distracted me from the pre-op anxiety.  Tatim Kane, RN (ortho), Dorothy Daisey, CNA (ortho), Erika Kalb (discharge planner), Kathleen Campos (PT), Megan Howell, RN (ortho), Brenna Johnson, RN (ortho), Joyce Chesney (unit secretary ortho), Jessica Glass, PTA, Akash Patel, RN (ortho), Jennifer Hazzard, PA, Megan Ellingsworth, RD, and Amber Watson, who cared for me overnight and could not have been more caring or patient. It truly takes a village to provide excellent healthcare, so if I missed naming any of my care team here, I apologize. But my message is also to Beebe Healthcare and its leadership. Thank you for hiring and supporting such amazing caregivers.

I am currently in physical therapy at Beebe’s Lighthouse Plaza facility, and the care I am receiving there is fantastic as well. As I stated in the beginning, start to finish, my experience at Beebe was beyond excellent. I cannot say enough about the excellent care I have received and continue to receive.

I’m a proud Beebe team member and a proud Beebe donor, and I’m actually looking forward to having my other knee replaced as soon as possible! Thanks again to all, Lisa.
