Sunrise sound bath meditation on Rehoboth Beach set July 8

June 17, 2022

A sunrise guided meditation and sound bath will be offered at 6 a.m., Friday, July 8, on Rehoboth Beach near the Virginia Avenue dune crossover.

Hosting the event are Katie Hope, LCCE, owner of Delaware Doula, and facilitator Jacquie Metzger, owner of Empower Your Purpose.

A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that uses sound frequencies to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to nurture the mind, body and soul. Participants will experience the power of healing through sound in a beautiful, natural setting. No previous meditation experience is necessary.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a beach towel or yoga mat to sit or lie on, and an additional towel or blanket for cover. Most people prefer lying down during a sound bath, but it can also be experienced while sitting on the sand or in a beach chair. Wearing layered clothing is recommended as participants may feel cool while meditating, and then feel increasingly warm as the sun rises.

A local childbirth educator, Hope said she and Metzger, a master sound and energy healer, knew at their first meeting that they wanted to work together to bring healing and relaxation events to local beaches.

Cost is $30 per person. The session is open to everyone, and advance registration is required by Tuesday, July 5. Go to eventbrite.com and search Sunrise Sound Bath Meditation on Rehoboth Beach.

Individuals registered by Friday, July 1, will be entered to win an extra ticket for an additional guest, with a drawing set for Monday, July 4, on Facebook Live.
