Skimboarding World Championship makes 40th appearance in Dewey

The 40th Annual Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding was held at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey Beach Aug. 12-14, where skimmers from age 8 thru Legends brought their best tricks to impress the judges and win cash and prizes.

Lucas Fink took top honors in the men’s pro division while Yahir Valencia scored second. Bruno Sá placed third, Dane Cameron fourth, Sam Stinnett fifth and John Webber sixth.

Casey Kiernan garnered first in the women’s pro division with Alex Yokley grabbing second. Sydney Pizza took third while Emma Okoniewski garnered fourth. Libby Rendell placed fifth.
 
Taking first in the Mini division was Giorgio Tomasi. Taking first in the Menehunes was Thomas James Hernandez. Eve Redefer won the Girls division while Calla Privor garnered first in the Jr Girls division. Colton Ettwein skimmed to first in the Boys division while Josh Wright took the Jr Men division. Rylea Sinex took first in the Women division. Zeke Williams won the Men division. The Senior Men division was won by Alex Farrell. Dan Brown won the Masters division. Jesse Burlew took the Grandmasters and Joe Ward took top honors in the Senior Grandmasters. Josh Wright won the Semi Pro division.
