Art by Anne Buck to adorn Milton Holiday House Tour book cover

August 28, 2022

The Women's Club of Milton announced it has selected Anne Buck’s watercolor, “Snow Day” for the cover of its 2022 Holiday House Tour book.

Linda King, Holiday House Tour chair, said “We are honored to have Anne’s lovely winter-themed watercolor featured on our tour book cover and other publicity this year.”

An award-winning watercolorist who loves the medium’s luminosity and translucence, Buck is the Milton Arts Guild education coordinator. Design and creativity have been infused in her education, with a bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design, and a master’s degree in biology education. In her working career, she used her design skills as a conservationist for erosion and sediment control, and as office manager and draftsman for Jennifer Thompson Architects, and her creativity as a science teacher for Cape Henlopen School District. She has studied watercolor with many nationally recognized artists such as Mary Whyte, Charles Reid, Janet Rogers and Vlad Yeliseyev.

Buck is a member of the International Watercolor Society, Delaware Watercolor Society, Rehoboth Art League and Delaware By Hand, and a past president of the Milton Arts Guild. Her work is on display at various art leagues, and has been displayed in Delaware’s Biggs Museum of American Art. Her work can be found periodically in shows throughout the beach communities and online at annebuck.com.

The Women's Club of Milton will hold its long-awaited Holiday House Tour Saturday, Dec. 10. The tour will showcase the historic town of Milton and its architecture, with private homes and several public buildings all beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The tour is a major fundraiser for the club’s charitable and educational initiatives.

The Women's Club of Milton is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the world’s oldest and largest women's service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Each club sets its own agenda, and works on projects and programs that address the specific needs of its communities. To learn more, go to womensclubofmilton.org.
