C. Susan Labus, cherished family, friends

C. Susan Labus, 77, of Millsboro, formerly of Verona, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at her home.

Susan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sept. 1, 1945, daughter of the late Francis Urell Sheridan and the late Claire (Carroll) Sheridan.  She had worked as a real estate dynamo for Schweppes & Company Realtors prior to her retirement and move to Millsboro 12 years ago.

She was a longtime resident of Verona, N.J., member of Montclair Golf Club, and resident of Baywood Community, where she developed a large circle of friends both at Montclair and Baywood.  Susan was a loving mom and cherished friend.  All those who knew her would agree that she was a bright light and ray of sunshine.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2017 by her husband, Charles F. Labus. Susan is survived by her two children, Jennifer Labus, and C. Matthew Labus and his wife Jeanine Perrotta; four siblings, Peter Sheridan and his wife Ann, Janet Sheridan, Regina Murray and her husband Tom, and Diane Savillia and her husband Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.   

A viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, at Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.  A eulogy will be held promptly at 10:15  a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Rd., Millsboro, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
