Sussex Tech hosts architect as Principal for a Day

October 24, 2022

Sussex Technical High School hosted Bryan Williams of ABHA Architects as Principal for a Day Oct. 17.

Williams met with school administrators, and visited classrooms and CTE areas where he talked with faculty and students, and served as both a hall and cafeteria monitor.

ABHA Architects is one half of the Joint Venture, ABHA I BSA+A, that will design the new school for the Sussex County Vocational Technical School District. “While I have visited the school many times, this was my first walk-through with students in the building,” said Williams. “It was a great opportunity to learn firsthand what improvements can be implemented in the new school.”

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering from Duke University and a master of architecture degree from Tulane University. He joined ABHA Architects in Wilmington in 2010, and was promoted to principal in the firm in 2020.

The Delaware Principal for a Day Program was started by the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce to bridge the gap between business leaders and educators.

Sussex Technical High School is a public school which prepares Sussex County students in grades 9-12 for their future success in both workforce environments and higher education.
