Lunch With a Purpose supports Children and Families First

November 20, 2022

A group of  250 people attended Lunch With a Purpose Nov. 2 in support of Children and Families First.

The luncheon was held at Rehoboth Beach Country Club where guests enjoyed a tasty meal and taking chances on fabulous raffle items including a 50/50. The guest speaker was Kirsten Olson, Children and Families First CEO. The organization focuses on the health, safety and well-being of Delaware’s children and families.

Attendees brought donations for the Seaford House, a therapeutic group home for youth and their families involved with the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. Seaford House provides a safe environment for youth to flourish and is supported by committed staff with the goal to help the young people become resilient and self-supporting. Donors kept in mind the needs of the tweens and teens, intending to make this holiday season a little special.

The total amount raised was $14,795, counting the $8,740 worth of in-kind donations.

Attendees also brought requested nonperishable items for the Food Bank of Delaware holiday campaign.

Lunch With a Purpose supports Sussex County charities with luncheons held the first Wednesday of each month.

Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding Inc. will be the beneficiary of the  Dec. 7 event at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
