Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland
It's hard to believe but Christmas is just a little more than a week away, with the beginning of 2024 coming very quickly on its heels.
As you might expect this time of year, there are a number of Christmas-themed events dominating the calendar this weekend, from the Delaware beaches to northern Delaware and in parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Here's what's happening this weekend...
Live Nativity on The Circle (Dec. 16-18)
The Good Ole Boy Foundation will again be holding this special Christmastime event on The Circle in Georgetown, scheduled to run from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Foundation will be providing free hot chocolate and cookies each night, as well as collecting diapers and wipes for the Sussex Pregnancy Care Center and toys for the Sussex County Foster Parent Association.
In addition to the three nights of live nativity, there will also be a special candlelight service on The Circle on Friday, December 23.

German Christmas Market (Dec. 17)
This special pre-Christmas event at Franklin Commons in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, is scheduled for Saturday, December 17, from 12 to 7 p.m.
Featuring the magic of "Weihnachtsmarkt," or German Christmas Market, this event is a German Christmas tradition. The barn at Willowbrook Farm will be serving as home base.
Christmas music, refreshments and all sort of Christmas spirit will be on full display.

Ugly Sweater Free 5K Fun Run (Dec. 17)
This wild and wacky event in St. Michaels is scheduled for Saturday, December 17, beginning at 9 a.m.
The event features a 5K on the St. Michaels Nature Trail, with participants urged to wear their favorite and most hideous holiday sweaters for the event.
The event also serves as a Christmas toy drive, so please bring an unwrapped toy in place of a monetary fee.
Prizes will be given out in several different categories, including ugliest traditional sweater, ugliest homemade sweater, ugliest non-traditional sweater and more.
The event kicks off at TriCycle & Run on South Talbot Street with runners asked to park at St. Michaels Elementary School and walk the two blocks to the store.
