Cape High JROTC cadets volunteer at Home of the Brave

March 9, 2023

On Feb. 25, nine Cape High JROTC cadets assisted members of Amvets Post 22 with its annual volunteer work at the Home of the Brave near Lincoln.

Cadets and post members worked from 10 a.m to noon in Home’s storage building sorting and organizing large numbers of essential donated items such as clothing, food products and personal hygiene items for use by the residents. Cadets involved in this very worthy community service project were Diego Reyna, Jenna Calhoun, Mason Furman, Wesley Sartain, Noah Calhoun, Mitch Rohmer, Sienna Steer, Cora Emory, Jazzman Ramos and Isaac League.

Despite everyone’s efforts, there is still more to be done, and in the near future, the cadets will return to continue with the project, said Cape High JROTC instructor Lt. Col. Ronald Erale.
