Barbara Curtis thanks BPW voters

May 19, 2023

I'm both humbled and delighted to have been elected to the Lewes Board of Public Works. This, my first election, was a wonderful experience. Everyone I encountered was gracious and readily forthcoming with their concerns. I learned much from those discussions. My thanks to everyone who came out to vote and to all who agreed it's time for an environmental science perspective at the BPW.

Thanks also to the BPW staff, my campaign team, neighbors and friends, former and current BPW board and city council members, the Greater Lewes Civic Coalition and the Cape Gazette for your help, and for working to inform the public. I wish all elections could be this cordial and rewarding! Lewes is the real winner: The city fostered three well-qualified candidates willing to volunteer their time to serve.

I look forward to serving this community I love so much and tackling the challenges the BPW will face ahead, collaborating with my fellow board members and the BPW staff to find the best solutions for Lewes. I pledge to do my best.

Barbara Curtis
Lewes BPW director-elect
