Fresh, eye-catching foods are all part of the summer season and, in the Cape Region, customers can fill their summer cravings by catering with Fig and Brie Charcuterie.
After noticing a trend in charcuterie, Anna Burkholder began her charcuterie board catering business in the summer of 2021. This summer, Burkholder will be partnering with Quest Adventures to cater by request.
Fig and Brie Charcuterie creates custom charcuterie boards for private events. These delicate displays of various finger foods are great for entertaining and pair perfectly with weddings, picnics, parties and more.
Upon customer request, Burkholder can accommodate the boards to her clients' food allergies or preferences.
“I always talk to my clients to see what they like, what their preferences are, if they have any food allergies, if there are any particular things they really want and if it's a theme. I’m pretty flexible,” Burkholder said.
Recently, Burkholder made an extravagant Memorial Day-themed board. The board contained a variety of foods including grapes, strawberries, various meats, and creatively crafted stars and lighthouses made from provolone.
This is just one of the many themed boards Burkholder has made for Fig and Brie Charcuterie. Previously, Burkholder has made boards for different seasons and other themed events.
Fig and Brie Charcuterie caters for any event, large or small, and requests at least a 72-hour notice per order.
In addition to her regular orders, Burkholder will be providing boards upon request for Quest Adventures, a kayak and stand-up paddleboard business in Lewes. Quest Adventures provides kayak and paddleboard rentals, water tours and beach parties.
After guests spend time on the water, they can lounge on the beach and enjoy an array of fresh fruit, cheeses and meats. Orders for these events will be done through Quest Adventures.
As an extension to her charcuterie catering, Burkholder provides classes for anyone looking to learn about charcuterie or Mediterranean cooking.
Due to her Armenian heritage, Burkholder grew up cooking Mediterranean foods with her family. Cooking is deeply rooted within Armenian culture and Burkholder loves to share her knowledge.

Inspired by her mother, Burkholder has an Armenian cookbook in the works. In the meantime, she shares her family recipes and stories on her YouTube channel, Anna’s Coastal Kitchen.
