'Come to the Fest & Sea the World' selected for film festival visuals
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society recently announced that Laura Ambler’s mixed digital work titled “Come to the Fest & Sea the World” was selected as the art theme for the 15th anniversary of the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival.
“Come to the Fest & Sea the World” will be the theme of the poster, program, ads, T-shirts and other collateral materials. The July release of the poster is a much-anticipated annual event in coastal Sussex County.
"All of the submissions were very creative and unique, which made the selection process very challenging” said Eric Kafka, board president. “The film society appreciates the time and work of each submitting artist.”
Laura Ambler is a Telly Award-winning advertising executive heading her own writing, graphic design and creative services agency, The Ambler Company Inc., based in Easton, Md. She illustrated three children’s books: “The Fish Tank,” “The Turtle Tank” and “The Rat Tank,” published by Schiffer Publishing in 2011. Legendary movie producer and director Roger Corman purchased Ambler’s first screenplay, “The Theory of Chaos,” and hired her to write “The White Pony," the highest-grossing Corman family movie to date.
In addition to author, screenplay writer and illustrator, Ambler is executive vice president of East Coast Flight Services Inc, where she is responsible for strategic planning.
Bids for the original “Come to the Fest & Sea the World” will be accepted during the film festival, Nov. 7 through 11, through a silent auction process.
The film society will again invite artists to submit work for the 2013 film festival. Artists interested in participating in this process should email info@rehobothfilm.com for guidelines and due date.
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is supported, in part, by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency committed to promoting and supporting the arts in Delaware.
