Milton holiday house tour book cover artist announced
The Women's Club of Milton announced a watercolor by artist Sue Marano, titled "I See You," has been selected for the cover of its Milton Holiday House Tour booklet.
The artwork depicts a cat hungrily staring at a mouse clinging to one of three red balls hanging on a Christmas tree.
Each year, the club chooses artwork from the Milton Arts Guild’s winter show for its Holiday House Tour publicity.
As a child in Montclair, N.J., Marano adored drawing and painting, and in school, art class was her favorite. Art took a back seat to her career in accounting and financial analysis for 40 years. Upon retiring to Lewes, Marano began attending local and regional art classes. She said watercolor became her favorite medium in which to create because of its versatility of technique and effort. Marano also works in acrylics, pen and ink, graphite and mixed media.
The Milton Holiday House Tour will be held from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, featuring private homes and public buildings in the historic town of Milton. All will be decorated for the holiday season.
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Mercantile at Milton, Salon Milton and Lewes Gourmet in Lewes. To reserve tickets or for more information, call 302-329-9738.
