Super Bowl rematch!

November 17, 2023

On Monday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet in a Super Bowl rematch. Unless the Eagles can play much better defense in the secondary and Jalen Hurts recovers from his mysterious knee injury, I don’t think the Eagles can make it back to the Super Bowl this year. From the Chiefs’ point of view, the offense has not been quite as dominant as it has been the last few years, but the defense has improved. They might get there again.

I think the Cowboys will continue winning this week against the 1-8 Carolina Panthers. The Cowboys were able to crush the struggling New York Giants last weekend. In the two games against the Giants, this year the Cowboys have beaten them 89-17. So much for the stronger NFC East division this year.

I was surprised to hear that the Phillies have decided that Bryce Harper is going to play first base again next season. This officially means goodbye to Rhys Hoskins. I really hope that the Phillies can re-sign Aaron Nola because there aren't many free agent pitchers out there for them to acquire. The best one is probably Blake Snell from the San Diego Padres. He has playoff experience with multiple teams, but he is also well known for his abrasive personality.

Congratulations to the Cape Henlopen field hockey team for winning another state championship. The Cape girls have won a lot of championships in the last 12 years. It is nice to see them back where they belong! Also congratulations to the Cape boys’ soccer team for making it to the state finals against Salesianum. This has been a great run for the boys’ team. I hope to be able to see a great game at 3 p.m., Saturday.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and enjoy the extra days off from school or work!
