Library initiative raises $2,500 to support Milford Advocacy for the Homeless
The Milford Public Library team greatly appreciates the community’s participation in its annual Christmas tree extravaganza. With the support of participating businesses, sponsors and individual donors, the library was able to present a check for $2,500 to Milford Advocacy for the Homeless.
MAH is a true grassroots organization fully funded by the community and grants, said Martha Gery, president. “With the $2,500 provided by the library and the Milford community, we’ll be paying the annual insurance invoice on our mini-bus, which gives MAH the freedom to deliver food, clothing and other supplies to the unhoused where they are,” she said.
Thanks go to the following businesses and organizations for decorating a tree and helping raise money for the cause: Milford Garden Club, Bay County Figure Skating Club, State Farm - Hunter Emory, Boy Scout Cub Pack 186, Shore United Bank, Milford Boys & Girls Club, and Milford Advocacy for the Homeless.
Additional donations from Richard Y. Johnson & Sons Inc., i.g. Burton, Atlantic Concrete Co., J. D. Asphalt, Friends of the Milford Public Library and individual donors rounded out the $2,500 donation amount.
