I’ve lived in Rehoboth for the last 30 years on the corner of Olive and First. I’m the only person left living here year round.
In the summer, people would come to the beach if it was snowing or hurricane. No more.
Rehoboth has fixed the parking problem. I no longer, ever, have guests tell me they can’t find parking. A rate of $4 an hour has fixed a problem. Also getting rid of a hardware store, two churches, grocery store, Frogg Pond, Nicola, McDonald’s, the library, etc., has cut down on traffic. No need to come to town when everything you need is on Route 1. We could continue this trend of improvement by encouraging the post office to move out of town and discourage more people coming to the expensive restaurants through more DUI enforcement.
Out of everything bad something good comes. Everyone is mad about how the city is spending money, especially on a city manager, but at least now we have an election for commissioners.
All four are fine, but two will speak their minds and have an opinion, Suzanne Goode and Rachel Macha. The other two will continue the above trend of increased irresponsible spending and killing of the tourist industry in Rehoboth. It’s very obvious rentals are down and restaurants aren’t as busy.
If you are eligible to vote this August, vote Goode and Macha.
