The local Cape Summer League came to its final competition Aug. 1 at Legends Stadium in Lewes.
Cape Team 2 fell to Milford 6-1, while Cape Team 1 defeated Sussex Tech 5-0.
Scoring for Cape Team 1 team were Brady Spiegel with two, and single scores by Austin Tyndall, Giovanni Barney and Jackson Hess.
“I organize the league to give the southern part of the state an opportunity to play summer league matches,” said Cape coach Patrick Kilby.
Woodbridge and Cape each had two teams. Seaford, Sussex Tech and Milford each entered one team.
“The league was very competitive and fun,” Kilby said. “I believe that these high school programs are moving in the right direction in terms of commitment and preparation for the fall season.”
