Gruenebaum has the right platform

September 27, 2024

Thanks to the detailed letters in the Sept. 20 edition of the Cape Gazette, I learned how Sussex County Councilman Mark Schaeffer veils his ties to unchecked growth and even parades himself as helping fight the Royal Farms gas station on Route 24.

Curt Smith's research reveals that a political action committee has accumulated $75,000, and Schaeffer is a beneficiary.

Vote to support Schaeffer's opponent, Jane Gruenbaum, whose platform can be found on page 10 of the Sept. 20 edition. I cite three of her six planks, including conservation efforts in the county's plans, promoting citizens' access to transparency and rethinking approaches to transportation, healthcare and education.

With unplanned, spiraling growth, the county must always be playing catch-up. That’s not an efficient way to run things.
