Sussex Academy students’ work published in teen literary magazine
Students in Karen Hugues’ eighth-grade writing class at Sussex Academy are making waves in the literary world.
Editors of Imazine, the teen literary and artistic magazine of the Delaware Library Association, selected original pieces from 13 Sussex Academy students for publication either online or in print editions.
Students Olivia Blackburn, Patricia Lara-Nieto, Madeline Mitchell, Emma Orlen, Zander Pine, Zoe Pine, Joanna Tsoukalas, Claire Denham, Eli Messick, Kindle Schell, Aarna Sharda, Gavin Tritapoe and Macy Wheatley are now published authors.
The Imazine publication serves as a platform for young writers and artists across Delaware to showcase their talents. Students were inspired to write about their personal traditions and community celebrations, and were recognized at an April 10 release party with fellow contributors at St. Georges Technical High School in Middletown.
