Dagsboro teen dies in crash near Long Neck

A Dagsboro teen died May 20 following a two-car crash near Long Neck.

The crash happened at 5:16 p.m. when the teen, 19, was driving a Lincoln MKZ westbound on Hollyville Road near Harmons Hill Road and entered the eastbound lane into the path of a Cadillac, police said.

The Cadillac swerved to avoid the collision, police said, but the front of the Lincoln struck the front of the Cadillac.

The teen was unrestrained and was taken to an area hospital where he died. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

The driver of the Cadillac, a Dagsboro woman, 52, and her passenger, a Millsboro woman, 56, were taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. 

The roadway was closed while the scene was investigated and cleared.
