Cape football seniors honor impactful teachers

Cape senior football players started a new program this year called You Made an Impact, where players designated a teacher who made a difference during their school years at Cape.
They presented T-shirts to their designated teachers May 16. Each shirt had their football jersey number on the sleeve with “You made an impact 2025” on the body of the shirt.
In the event the teacher had been designated by another player, each sleeve will have the players’ numbers on them.
“This event had a very positive impact on the teachers and the smiles lasted for days,” said Joy Bitter, vice president of Cape Football Boosters. “It definitely was the talk of the school, and we intend on doing this each end of school year.”

Tyler “Tak” Cohen-Kreis chose Susan Bassett as his impactful teacher.
Eileen Springfield, shown with Tonya Kauffman, was nominated by Colby Jester.
Bruce Leibu, left, was nominated by Jase Truitt, while Tonya Kauffman was honored by Trent Kauffman.
Bodie Frederick chose Tonya Karl.
Seth Brosius was nominated by AJ Mosley.
Brendan Staggs chose Tanya Humes as his impactful teacher.
Blake Frye nominated Gregory Berman, who is now at Fred Thomas Middle.
