The Sussex Academy Class of 2025 held its seniors awards ceremony June 4, honoring graduating students and announcing more than $150,000 in scholarships.
Head of School Kyle Bentley noted a number of student achievements in the arts, athletics and academics, stating the class has set the bar incredibly high for the underclassmen.
“For example, the Class of 2025 ranked second in the state for the evidence-based reading and writing portion of the SAT. They also earned a third-place ranking in both math and the essay portion of the exam — an extraordinary accomplishment by any standard,” said Bentley.
This year’s graduating class of 112 seniors earned nearly 60 acceptances to colleges and branches of the U.S. military. Students received awards for excellence in content areas, theater, performing arts, multiliteracy and service, and scholarships from organizations throughout the county and state.
