The Milton Theatre, in partnership with Sussex Pride, hosted the second annual Pride Fest June 14 in historic downtown Milton.
With the theme Small Town – Big Heart, the celebration featured an energetic lineup of local bands Goldstar, Magnolia Applebottom and Friends, and Mama’s Black Sheep. More than a dozen vendors, several food trucks, resource booths and a dedicated kids’ fest helped create a vibrant, family‑friendly atmosphere.
Admission was on a pay‑what‑you‑can basis, with all proceeds supporting the Milton Theatre Education Wing Capital Campaign, an initiative aimed at expanding arts education and building safe creative spaces for young performers.
“I’ve been here for like 10 years doing shows once a month, and they asked me to come back and host,” said Magnolia Applebottom, the Queen of Snark and Eyelashes. “I was like, ‘Uhhh, sign me up! Let’s go, let’s do it!’ So here I am. Pride is always a special month for the LBGTQ+ people. It’s our month to celebrate who we are – diversity and inclusion.”
