Car fire causes delays on Route 1

A car fire on northbound Route 1 caused traffic delays June 18. 

The incident occurred about 3:52 p.m. near the bridge over the Broadkill River, south of the intersection of Route 16. 

The vehicle was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the scene. Traffic was restricted for nearly 45 minutes while firefighters handled the situation.
