Cape senior league team kicks off all-star season

Comeback bid against Laurel comes up short, bounced by West Side
June 26, 2025

Little League all-star season is underway, as the Cape senior all-stars team battled against Laurel June 24 in the first game of the summer tournaments.

Cape felt the heat, literally and figuratively, from the onset, as Laurel tacked on eight runs in the top of the first to take a lead they would carry throughout the game. For their part, Cape did make things interesting, allowing just one more run in the 9-5 loss.

Left fielder Nick Petito drew three walks from the leadoff spot, stole a base and drove in a run, while catcher Kingston Noel went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Both lads crossed home once, joining Ben Pribulick, Noah Hendrick and Jimmy Swatski in the runs scored band.

With an 11-1 loss to West Side in the next game, Cape was eliminated from the tournament.
