Seven local homeowners will open their gates and welcome garden tour ticket holders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, in support of the Milton Garden Club.
Attendees will have the opportunity to stroll through a curated selection of private gardens and gain design inspiration for their own outdoor spaces. From charming cottage gardens bursting with color to serene retreats and a plant collector’s paradise, the tour promises something for everyone. The variety includes sun gardens, shade gardens, a bonsai garden, flowering trees, koi ponds, fern gardens and drought-resistant plants.
Some gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. Artists and vendors will be selling their wares and creations.
The club will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind sailor’s Valentine created by local artist Julia Allen Smith, Milton Garden Club vice president.
Plants and tasty treats will be also available for purchase at the ticket booth.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets soon so they can enjoy this local event.
There is no rain date, but a hurricane/nor’easter date is Saturday, Sept. 27.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at Pepper’s Greenhouse, the Mercantile at Milton, Lewes Gourmet/Puzzles and Bella Terra Landscapes & Garden Center. On the day of the tour, tickets may be purchased from the booth at the Milton Historical Society, 210 Union St., Milton.
Attendees are encouraged to carpool.
