Wharf Rats announce flounder tournament winners

The Angola By the Bay Boaters Club, aka the Wharf Rats, hosted its 22nd annual Fish Fest Flounder Tournament July 26.

It was a great day as participants set out in search of the winning flounder. As weigh-in time neared, community members gathered to greet 38 captains their and crews and see who had the winning catches of the day.

For the ocean flounder category, Tony Cirilo was first with seven pounds, 1 ounce. In the bay flounder category, Greg Baumanis was first with 6 pounds, 2 ounces. 

Tournament directors Ted Zwally and Gary Berti, along with many other Wharf Rats members and community volunteers, helped make it a great event. This was Zwally’s last year as director, and organizers extend their thanks to him, his wife Ruth Ann, and all the family members for their time and dedication over the years.
