As a resident of Hart's Landing, which is off Route 24 near Love Creek Bridge, I am disturbed at the attempt to change the agricultural-residential designation at the Belle Mead property to commercial. Residents from the numerous developments that join onto Route 24 have weighed in regarding the increased traffic load and difficulty (and danger) already facing those of us turning onto Route 24 from our homes trying to get either east or west. The fact that DelDOT has no upcoming plans to widen either Route 24 or the bridge over Love Creek makes this proposed development and its estimated traffic increase unsustainable and irresponsible. I urge citizens affected by this proposal to oppose this zoning change by showing up at the Sussex County Council hearing Tuesday, Sept. 16.
