Exciting game!

September 26, 2025

On Sunday, the Eagles pulled off a crazy comeback to beat the Los Angeles Rams by the score 33-26. It was definitely the tale of two halves.

In the first half, and on the first possession of the second, the Eagles’ offense was absolutely awful. A big reason for this was the poor play of the offensive line, and the very conservative play calling. Ironically, the special teams were awful as well, considering how they eventually won the game for the team. In the first half, the Rams were going up and down the field like they were playing a high school team. A big part of the reason that the offense struggled so much was the lack of performance by the kickoff return team. The two returners kept bobbling the ball which gave the offense terrible field position.

After half time, and a first possession fumble and score for LA, the Eagles became a completely different team. The biggest drive of the game was the one after the strip sack turnover when they scored a quick touchdown to make the score 26 to 14. They finally decided to throw the ball consistently down field and the wide receivers did a great job. The defense and special teams then shut out the Rams for the rest of the second half. The special teams blocked two field goals attempts in the fourth quarter, including the last play of the game.

The Phillies will most likely be the second seed in the national league playoffs, and they will start next Saturday. Last night, they clinched the second seed by hitting a franchise record eight home runs in the game, crushing the Miami Marlins by the score of 11-1. Let's hope they can continue this consistent offensive production into the playoffs. They will have five days off before their first game to await the winners of the wild card series.

Kyle Schwarber hit two home runs Wednesday night. He currently has 56 home runs. There are three games left in the regular season for him to try to catch and pass Ryan Howard for the Phillies team record of 58 home runs in a season. Backup infielder Edmundo Sosa set a single-game shortstop record with three home runs in one game. The team has been in existence for 143 years so that makes the feat a lot more impressive for him to accomplish.

I will recap the Ryder Cup golf results next week. The excitement for the tournament seems to increase every hour. Go USA!
