14th RD Democrats to meet Oct. 8

October 1, 2025

The 14th Representative District Democratic Committee will meet Wednesday, Oct. 8. Guest speakers will be Democratic leaders Evelyn Brady and Sen. Russ Huxtable, D-Lewes.

The program will begin at 5 p.m. with a Dutch treat dinner, followed by remarks from Brady and Huxtable, and committee business at 6 p.m.

Brady, a former public school teacher and community activist, is a longtime advocate of voting and reproductive rights. She previously served as transition director for Gov. Matt Meyer and currently sits on several boards including Planned Parenthood of Delaware and Action for Delaware’s Children. She was elected state party chair in June following a campaign emphasizing year-round organizing, messaging, fundraising and Democratic Party unity.

Originally elected to the Senate in 2022, Huxtable has emerged as a legislative leader, sponsoring critical bills to expand access to affordable housing, protect marriage and increased rights for domestic partners, and allow Sussex County to impose impact fees on new development to pay for local schools. He sits on nine Senate committees and serves as chair of the agriculture committee.

The 14th RD Democratic Committee represents residents of Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and southern Lewes.

All registered Democrats are welcome to participate in 14th RD meetings. Those planning to attend the meeting should RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 7, to c.fruchtman@comcast.net and the location will be provided.
